Summary:

J.R. Harris & Company (JRH) conducted multi-week seismic design and analysis training courses for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over several years. These courses covered a comprehensive range of topics, including earthquake phenomena, ground motions map development, and structural systems for earthquake resistance. Participants delved into advanced subjects such as response spectra, dynamic response to ground motion, modal analysis, and nonlinear response. The training also addressed various seismic systems by material and the associated parameters and behavior for each.  In addition, the courses focused on the design of diaphragms and collectors, nonstructural components, and the evaluation of existing buildings for seismic performance.
