Denver International Airport Level 5.5

Owner: Denver International Airport
Client: Logplan
Completion Date: 2021
Services: Existing Structure
Summary:
The DEN Level 5.5 project involved the structural design of a new suspended floor from the existing Level 6 floor structure across much of the Denver International Airport terminal footprint. The new platforms are used to support baggage conveyor systems. This project required modifications and strengthening to the existing building structure including cutting through structural beams and girders. This required detailed design of strengthening for adjacent framing to redistribute the floor loading without adding columns, and construction monitoring to ensure successful implementation.
